Hi Gang -
I just wanted to ask all to PSE use the enter key on your email
composition screen once in awhile. Or else configure your email to word
wrap....I have just gotten thru reading ANOTHER email that went abt FOUR
screen widths to the end of a line. Sorry if this isn't a problem for
others, but my screen isn't 25" wide!

Subject: Low pass filters
Message-ID: <199611101956.OAA03816 at mail3.voicenet.com>
Hi all - This weekend while operating the WAE RTTY CONTEST, I noticed
that my 25 year old Drake low pass filter was getting fairly warm on
15m, and slightly warm on 20 m (yes, 15 was wide open to EU this
weekend!) I was running 1500 W, where in the past, I usually ran
closer to 1000 W out, with a different amp.
This LP filter predates the 1500 W output rule, and probably
pushing it too hard. The easiest solution was removing it from the
line and inserting a double-female SO239, which brings up the point
of my posting.
In these days of CATV is there really a need to use a LP filter? If
you think so, pse recommend a full-power LP filter. Please reply to
me, and I'll summarize if there's interest.
Tnx/Barry (still) W2UP
