Dave the article is in the Jan/Feb 1994 issue of NCJ, page 28.  if 
you can't locate a copy let me know and will send a photo-copy.  The
design is by KU4J - it appears in the 'Contest Connection' column
by WB2EEK.  I don't think I could stuff 4 opto-couplers and 7 
resistors in a db-25 shell, but that's what he did!

The diagram shows only 3 Function keys being used.  He also shows a 
CW keying circuit in the same diagram - there may not have been 
enough room for that and four other couplers in the DB25 shell!

The info on which pin is activated by which function key is shown
on the schematic and in the text - but they are not the same!
I think i would like to build this on a small board first to enable a 
bit of experimentation before trying to get it all into a DB25.

can anyone please help ?!?! The maxtor 80meg hard drive in my CONTEST 
computer cant be accessed?? methinks it is the onboard electronics on the 
drive....media should be fine as it never has given me any problems
is there anyone on here that does that kind of work...estimates over the 
phone are in the 350.00 range...any help would be appreciated as all my na 
qdf files , ct .bin files and log-eqf files are on it (over 11,000 qso) 
Please spare the comments about backing up as between my dad and 12 year

The most challenging moment of the sprint was working KN5H followed by
KM5H..both at blistering speed....my mental computer did a quick doubletake
on that one!11

As the log checker for the CW Sprint, I can give you my take on this
issue.

First off, good for you making an effort to correct the call.  I guess
not everyone knows that KN5S is no longer a valid callsign.

When the checking software finds the QSO "busted", it lists the callsigns
of the stations worked at the indicated QSO number (from your log) and
the QSOs just before and after the number.  If I find KN5S there, it
is pretty obvious what happened.  The QSO will not be removed from 
your log.

On the report for the station that copied your call incorrectly, the
call will be listed as not being active in the contest and then be
removed from their log (bust callsign).  Maybe we will have a race 
between KN5S and N4BO for this contest (or maybe KM5S will show
up in a few logs).

As far as a long term solution goes...  September 23rd is coming
up fast!!
