Hello guys !

I use a KT34XA at 70 feet above gnd at my hill top QTH in Sicily and

it works quite well (good pattern and nice reports)...also, the SWR

is very good on 10 and 20 (the same of the declared SWR in the manual)

a little different on 15.

We have an other KT34XA in our Lampedusa QTH but at 40 feet: the

pattern is not very sharp as in the other location but the SWR is

the same.

I wish to know if the different height should be the only cause of

the worst pattern and....if somebody of you has collected some

news about the antenna and his difficult assembly.

What about the conductive paste ? Do you believe in it ?

Thanks for your attention!

Mike, also note that there are no additional power categories for single =
op-assisted! Makes you wonder.=20
We obviously don't need as many categories as the Oscars (best =
performance by a ham licensed more than 3 years but less than 20, using =
a TA33 at 45 feet....), but it is obvious that the categories lack =
sufficient sub-categories such as what you and I are discussing. Oh, =
well.

I must be dense. I just noticed that there is no low power or QRP =20
classes for single band entries. Wonder why? Not that contests are =
fair  =20
but, this sure gives and advantage to someone who travels to a well =
setup  =20
station say in the Carribean.

I think all contests should have a low power catagory in all catagories.

Despite already having a 70 foot crankup on his property, Manny, W2MF,
won big this evening with the approval of a 130 foot 2nd tower on his
property despite heavy neighbor complaints.

Manny's neighbors can no longer complain to Jackson Township New Jersey
of their view of the sky being blocked.

Interesting in the Townships approval was testimony for the amateur's
actual NEED for 130 feet of tower. The potential for stacked 20 meter
beams for optimum performance at a time of minimum sunspots was
presented as argument and was not debated.

Testimony presenters were congradulated by the zoning board during the
break following the approval and asked to present additional info to the
Zoning Board later for reference in future tower cases.

This I believe is the first case of a tower of this hieght being approved
in New Jersey.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know anything abt "technical reflector" existence?
I've got some big problems with my Ten-Tec Paragon 585,
while the Company seems to be a bit reluctant to help.

Since, it seems it is something born with the idea of paragon's
construction, other users of the gear must have eventually
faced the problem as well, I am sure.

Good, if we could discuss it...

Yours,
