Go For It  - Take the receiver up there with reasonant antennas and a
pre-amp would be good to simulate the gain of full size antennas.  Check
all the bands and also take an aircraft band receiver. The air band
receiver will detect all kinds of possible noise problems.

Almost 10 years ago AB4CQ and I operated from central Florida, almost as
close to a High Tension Main Route and absolutely no problems.

Your milage may vary but you gotta do the test drive.
