Hola!

Since when DX and USA compete in a contest? Since when there has been
equal grounds of competition? thats why there are so many contests, so that
everyone can have fun in a different way.
I understand that recognition is good for everyone, but for me contests are made
of hundreds of small contests happenning in every region, country, state and even
City blocks. Is great to see your face in the magazine as number one, but people
learn to live with number 2,3 ,4 and the rest. I know many really good contesters
with top notch operating that dont make it to the top for various reasons, and
they dont quit, they learn to live with the disadvantage and someday they may get a
glimpse of glory and recognition, usually happens when they travel and DXpedition.
(read n6tj's previous message)
A question?

How many W1's you see on the top world recognition?

I see the operators from less propagation lands blessed with more recognition
how about:

N6AA,N6TJ,N6ZZ, N5KO,N5TJ,N5AU,K8CC, OH2MM, OH2BH,
NH7A,AI6V,(sorry for the many left) and lots of our good friends from Europe and Japan
I think that all the world records are pretty much on these guys.

I think that this debate is going nowhere, I see there is for everyone in the new
changes proposed, 48 hrs will mean more fun for some, while less chances
for others, but then I see that the point for same country QSO makes the deal
even, especially when every body knows that the ones in the hell holes
of central and west states kick butt on this type of propagation.

For you guys in Europe, Dont worry you have one pointers anyhow
and there is more activity from EU than USA in this contest, and, since when
europeans have worried about the scores from the States?
As I said before, a contest like this is won at regional levels and At the end
the most important thing for you is, how in hell your neighbor made more QSOS
than you.

To close.. A little story... We prepared ourselves well for the WPXSSB
and did M/M and ended with just about the same amount of QSOS
and multipliers than our competitor P3A, and still they beat us by
no less than 8 million points.. is that fair? would that make us not to try it again?
Surely not!! We had the time of our lives and we won our contest and for us was
a big victory getting so close to the record!!

Lets not fight anymore, is scary to see so much anger in the greatest hobby in the world

makes me wonder is people are really having fun and enjoying it...
My dad once told me "Hey Kiddo get rid of things that dont make you happy"
