Maybe he saw a spot on the cluster and went to work the PJ2 ?
Maybe he tunes on one VFO while he is CQing on the other one ?
Maybe his ICE filters are 40 miles apart.....
Hard to say.

Hi!

This is Ben, DL6FBL.

I feel that now I must tell, what I heard in CQ WPX SSB this year:
Only about one or two hours into the contest, I tuned over 40m for
the first time. On one frequency (let's say 7060kHz) I heard RM6A
making a QSO. Because I did not want to wait, I put his frequency
in the memory and tuned higher. About 4 or 5 kHz up I found a
PJ2something. I was a bit confused, because
---> HE WAS CALLED BY RM6A. While these two made their QSO, I went
back to the memory frequency and heard: "CQ Contest, this is RM6A".

hwsat?
