When NB and PEI obtained distinctive prefixes, amateurs could apply for
a new call or keep their existing VE1 call. New licences issued will all
have the new prefix(VE9 or VY2), but quite a few amateurs kept their
existing calls.

The same thing will occur with Nunuvut-VY3 will be the new prefix but
amateurs will have the option of retaining their VE8 call

I worked VE1GN on SSB during the 10 meter contest and he gave the
exchange as NB (VE9). I logged it that way, but was wondering if
there are still VE1 callsigns in NB? I thought it was all VE9 now,
can someone enlighten me?
