Well, you picked a great contest for illustrating why you should log
the dupes!  We always experience much greater dupe rates in the 160
contests.  I suspect the added noise is the culprit.  Repeat your
experiment with a contest on higher frequencies and I suspect you
won't be as badly bent out-of-shape!  ;-)

Unfortunately, four is not a record.....

We normally spend most of our time at W4WA CQing in the 160 contests 
and always get a lot of dupes.  This time we did a lot more S&Ping, 
and our dupe rate was somewhat less.
