I have a Gap Titan. I use it as a listen anywhere, anytime antenna. It
also gets me on the WARC bands occasionally. BUT, it will never play
as well as a dipole for any specific band. Mine gets me anywhere until
I can get something better in the air, and fills in blind spots on
existing antennas to some degree.
An antenna like this is FULL of compromises and reactive current in
lossy internal coax. If you get one, you're not getting any kind of
gain. 0 dbi is about the best you can hope for. If you're looking to
fill in a missing band you can always do better. If you're looking to
fill in three or four bands and have to do it from the ground up on a
limited budget, then it might be your ticket. You can work a lot of dx
with 100 w and 0 dbi. You won't crash a pile up full of kw's and
TH9/C31XR stuff up 100 feet. You might finess a pileup.
I use mine quite a bit, but one of these days beams 40-10.
73, Guy.
