Re all the recent comments about 40m sideband frequencies....

My SSB range here in CI is 7050-7300. I have tried CQing in 7150-7300,
but nobody in the US ever listens there. That was totally unproductive,
so all I could do was try to squeeze into the wall below 7100 and try to
hold a listening frequency above 7150. For a while I tried alternating
CQs on the two frequencies, but never once did I get an answer on the
high (i.e., >7150) frequency. It seems to me that the US folks are all
either CQing there themselves (listening down), or they are S&P below
7100.

This was in the ARRL DX SSB contest, not WPX this past weekend. I
didn't even bother with WPX, except for scanning the bands a couple of
times after sunset and answering a whopping total of 63 people. There
is some slim chance things on 40m were a little different in WPX, since
US-US contacts were at least marginally productive for people, but
somehow I doubt many people were listening above 7150.

Are there many other countries outside US/VE where 40m operation above
7150 is allowed? Even if there were a bunch of them, I would expect
operators there have had the same experience I have and now don't even
bother CQing above 7150.
