For my two cents worth:  I don't think it matters - since (major) maintenance 
in the middle of a contest is not that common. I wouldn't mind if my 
competition has someone standing by all weekend waiting for something to 
fix.... so long as he only twiddles his thumbs and doesn't operate or log (or 
spot mults)
