Hi!
Our contest group has some openings for additional operators
for a multi-multi dxpedition to Zone 2 for the CQ World-Wide
SSB Contest.
We will be operating under special event callsign VB2R
(commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of
E.S. Rogers, Canadian amateur radio pioneer and inventor
of the "batteryless radio").
Our contest QTH is located in a provincial wilderness area
in the Municipality of James Bay in northwest Quebec...its
about a 14 hour drive over paved roads north of Toronto.
We operate on generator power, and needless to say one
needs to be prepared for winter conditions. Normal daytime
temperatures are in the +5-6 degree C. range and at night
can fall as low as -10 degrees C at that time of year.
Most of the members of our group are perennial "little
pistol" contesters and this is our once in a while
chance at contest "fame" (hi).
If you think you're crazy enough to join a group of even
crazier Canadians on this dxpedition drop an e-mail note
to either myself at ve3sre at rac.ca or Carl VE3BY at
va2by at rac.ca (just imagine all the snow you're walking
through is a beautiful white sand Caribbean beach and
it might help keep you warm...hi).
