Granted, it's not common, but I did catch one big-time contester once.
It was during a 10 meter contest years ago and he was having a hard
time copying the state.  I had my packet system set up to see both the
input and output from the node, and I saw him do a SH/BUCK to get the
state.  As soon as the info was sent back to him, he did a QSL QRZ?
and was on his way.  

You can bet for every one that's caught there are dozens or hundreds
that aren't.
