[CQ-Contest] 10M open when it shouldn't be

Hi:
Last CQ WW I started the contest on 10 M. And it was surprising being called
by European/North West African/Midle East  stations late at night. (It is
not common, at least for me)
I don't know if they were coming via long path, as the antenna I use is a
vertical. There was no echo in the signals.
It would be interesting to know where were they beaming at that time.
