Hi Ed,
Our group, San Diego Contest Club, had one of the original
MFJ DVKs and we had nothing but grief with it and after a year of
trying to get it working right we finally returned it for a refund.
I noticed their new one does not allow you to set the
repeat timer less than 3 seconds in between CQs etc.
I called MFJs tech support and asked it it could be modified
for less time between message, they said emphatically NO !
Well, if you call CQ in a contest and wait 3 seconds in
between CQs your calling freq will be long gone........

We bought DVKs from W2IHY, he is currently designing a new
model and some of our club memebers have the Model II and they seem
to work pretty good.

Subject: Vl: [CQ-Contest] WPX rules

| This is the way CQ WPX rules are published, concerning MUlti op class. Does
| this mean that Multi SIngles are NOT required to be within 500m boundaries,
| and that they are allowed MORE than one running station per band?

Really?
So THIS explains why we can hear every year lots of so called
"multi-singles" with the multitude signals on same (and different)
band! It is just how you read the rules ... :=D
