I just did, and I think it supports the point.  By 1800Z, the average of
these 5 stations' QSO totals was ~1100.  By the end of the contest, it was
a ~ 1350 (both eyeball estimates).  These 5 stations made an average of
less than 250 QSOs in the last 9 hours, despite tremendous antenna farms,
1500 watts and SO2R.  No question, you have to keep on grinding it out or
you'll lose at this level, but that doesn't mean it's a fun Sunday
afternoon.
