Pete,

	Good idea and one thing you might add is,
when a stations responds to your query, such as, "NR 267?"
the weak stations should always send "QSL" or "R R R"
or "CFM" and NEVER repeat the number back to the querying
station. 
	When you have copied the number correctly the first time
and the queried station responds by sending a NUMBER again,
you are then lead to believe they are now sendind a corrected number
and having that info fade in and out just wastes a lot of time
when a simple "QSL" etc. would have been sufficient.
