Yeah going back to the 30s would be great.
How can we do it?
Count on my help....
Guys that's impossible, tell me how a bunch of Hams can prevent technology
from advancing.
Even less, contest organisers cannot assure who was and who was not using
packet, and that for sure corrupts the spirit of the competition.
Just as an example:

XX0XXX is doing an all out effort to set a new world record within the
rules. He spent lots of everything to succed.
XX9XXX is doing an all out effort to do the same, but he will use some extra
help.

In the results XX9XXX beats XX0XXX just for the difference he got by using
the "assistance".

This situation have happened in the past. Even records have been set that
way.

Why not to stop that if we can.

I guess it is time to obtain a more serious scenario, other way many would
feel dicouraged, and will leave the sport, specially the younger ones.

Some would respond whit the excessive power problem... That's another story.
It'll be nonsense not to stop one irregular situation, just because we
cannot stop another...

Some guys assured me that 99.9 % of the USA top tenners don't like using
packet. That's right most of us don't like packet at all. Not only withing
contesting, but DXing too.

But let me say it is not a matter of likes and dislikes, it is a matter of
fair play.

Contesting, long ago, has become, a serious sport for many. Although it is a
hobby, it imlplies competition, and I believe you'll agree entrants diserve
completely serious rules, to assure them thatcompetition will be the fairer
possible.
