The winners might be decided by who has the better access 
to spots and spot quality.  It is not as easy to get 
a net connection or packet connection everywhere 
as you claim. 

You sure are making alot of posts on this topic - I would 
like to point out that in many contests there is a 
catagory that you can enter.

It is called Single Op assisted.

I usually do not choose to enter this catagory - I prefer to
work the contest without assistance.  I usually do not even
use <gasp> super check databases. 

One of the big thrills of operating the radio is tuning the
bands and finding stations - if someone else finds them 
for me it removes most of the fun from the activity for me.

BTW there have been some really good posts on this topic made
on this very reflector over the years - I would recommend 
you go to the archives and read over some of them.
