You have described exactly what I have faced for many years, Not enuff
commitment to put more $$$ into your station and not big enuff /wrong
location to compete effectively. Just can't get thru the East Coast
curtin on any of the bands to EU, I think I have found the answer to
some of it. I try to do just single band efforts, NOW AGE is playing
a part, and do the best that I can with that. Also do some of the
lesser contest, than WW and ARRL DX, I have a competive station in
SS but forget WW and the DX contest.
I would suggest that you work hard at whatever contest that you want to
do and just accept the results for your self. MAKE YOUR OWN NOTCH
