Front cover photo of hams in space; actually N5SCW, astronaut Jerry Ross,
working on the International Space Station. And just like us earth-bound
hams, here he is working with some cables. Oh No! Could these be phasing
lines for some monster space-based array that will be used later this month
during the CQ WW SSB Contest? What category will they enter?

...PSE DON'T TAKE YOUR BAT AND BALL AWAY, MARTIN!
I WILL CONTEST WITH YOU AND ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS IN THAT PART O' THE
WORLD....
Listening to K5ZD tell of his contesting adventure from your part of the
world (actually it was ZL, but....) well, it tipped me to what you guys are
truly up against.
...there is merit to a good write-up which allows the reader to see
achievements "outside of the boxes" - In an attempt to be politically
correct the creation of so many categories and ensuing boxes has, I suspect
without even being recognized as such, been an attempt to offset poor
write-ups by letting the boxes catch the outstanding unique
efforts........along with that the boxes have highlighted a lot of so what
just turned on the rig for a few hours efforts...
Nice job hosting the Olympics down there OM...coverage here has been
spectacular...too bad I usually find out the winners in the car on my way to
work or at lunch time and then see the re-telecastings after dinner...was
going to shut off the radio at first but I guess it is like those illegal
single ops who use packet assistance...cannot seem to turn off those spots!
