If it's your run frequency, a simple "QSL. QRZ?" is more than adequate when the rate is high. Everybody waiting to work you knows your callsign and you just annoy them by repeating it on every QSO.
Actually two things are at work here. With my perpetually weak signal I have become a master of S & P. Some stations only have one crystal and can't S&P so they won't know what it's like.
1. Everybody who uses packet knows who you are. Those of us without packet haven't a clue until you tell us. If you want to take the time to tell me I'm a "dupe", then don't give your call just say QRZ. Really drive people crazy during SS and not include your call in the exchange either.
2. Here in this country, USofA, the FCC rules require you to give your call at the end of a QSO. If you fail to ID at the end of the QSO, then you have violated the rules (remember the rules?). If you haven't ended the QSO with the last station worked then you can't go on to the next QSO. If you go on to the next QSO without the ID then you can't sign that statement at the bottom of the summary that says you followed all the rules of the contest committee and the government.
IN OTHER WORDS ID after each QSO or get slowed down and violate the rules.
If you violate the rules send in your log and mark the score as DQ. This will clarify you status and maintain your integrity.
