[CQ-Contest] Packet cheating

"Looking at packet is almost the same as SO2R"....

NEGATIVE!

SO2R is a skill developed with lots of hard work and determination and can
not be performed well without continuous additional effort, especially after
you have been operating for 40 hours straight, your eyes are losing depth
perception and you are so tired you can't even remember your name. The
operator is doing ALL his own work, by tuning, by listening, by waiting
(sometimes endlessly for a DX op to give his/her call) and by properly
timing the call/sending the exchange, so as not to interfere with what
he/she is doing on the first radio.

To compare this to packet (regular or internet) with hundreds of people
doing the work for you, and all you have to is look at the screen and press
a key to be there automatically, is RIDICULOUS! and pretty insulting to
those of us who are working harder by choosing NOT to use packet.

I am glad that there are categories for packet users - it introduces a
different operating element and provide an interesting alternative to SO
without packet, as well as a way for guys to DX and further enhance their
scores. This is good thing.

But lets be VERY clear on this - SO2R without packet is much more
challenging and demanding than SO with packet. Period!
