Like those who operate SO1R don't do this?  Plenty of them are very frequency agile (using simple, 80s technology VFO A/B switching) and attempt to take back "their" run frequency after departing for a multiplier.

SO2Rs are NOT the only ones who do this.  They are, however, less likely to vacate a frequency as long as a SO1R might.
