I usually operate QRP so I often spend a little time calling a new
multiplier. There have been many times when the pile is getting down to
the point where I have a chance and all of a sudden many more callers
appear on frequency in very short order. It would be interesting to list
some of these calls and see if they are assisted or just very good
single ops that find a lot of mults. It like someone just opened the
floodgates!
As a pratical matter, it has amazed me the small number of entries in
the assisted category as opposed to the unassisted category given the
widespread use of spotting networks (packet and internet). Come on guys,
it would be easier to win a certificate in the assisted category so why
not enter it.
