[CQ-Contest] SO1R v SO2R

It seems like some of you think the SO2R is something new. It has been
around longer than many of you. Larry, W9IOP, used it back in the '60s.

The current classes define the "number" of operators (SO vs. MO), the
transmitting power they are using (LP vs. HP), the number of allowed
simultaneous transmissions (single transmitter vs. multi-transmitter),
and the number of bands that they are operating on (single band vs. all
bands).

Should you, as a single operator, who takes the time to develop the
skills to use two, or more, radios and spend the hard earned resources
to make it effective, be then pushed into another class because others
do not step up to the bar? I think not. In the not-so-far past, many
operators had a second or more receivers to monitor the other bands
for openings and multipliers. This would prompt a band change. Those
that were good would do this in a few seconds and return with most
non-the-wiser. If you are not doing this, step up to the bar. With some
rigs and the quick auto-tune amplifiers of today, it is possible to
to do the SO2R with one rig. How do you classify this one?

When one develops their skills and dedicates resources towards the end
goal of winning in a contest, the non-winners should not move to have
them removed from the competition, but they should step up to the bar.

If you really can't, do not grumble about those that can, and have. It just
sounds like sour grapes.
