If your message is longer than what fits in a single command,
you'll have to send two or more commands, and that will cause
the same problem, even without polling.

Yes, I found the pre-DSP signal much cleaner, but there was a terrible
filter blow-by, normally masked out by the DSP.

Inhibiting polling during transmitt solves this completely. Why would you
need tranceiver talk to computer during transmitt?
Much worse is the fact that DSP cannot be switched off on TS570. IMHO it is
one big disadvantage on 80/160 meters where this radio is much worse then
say an old FT902DM wich hears weak signals on 160 that TS570 does not detect
at all.
