SECC: To whom it may concern,
Regarding the WRTC Selection process...
I would like to urge the club to select THE BEST TWO OPERATORS from each
call area, which includes W4. There are some very good operators in the
4th call area that are NOT part of the SECC. I hope the club will
evaluate the competitors in the southeast and nominate them on their
perceived ability and not their membership to our club or their proximity
to our club's membership.
I would also urge that the club not nominate two members from our club,
even if they are deemed to be the best. There are some very fine
operators that are part of clubs like the KCG, TCG, and FCG that are every
bit as good as me or John or anyone else in our club. They should not be
overlooked.
Lastly, I would like to urge the club when selecting competitors from
other call areas to consult with clubs in those call areas regarding our
nominations. I think we should consult with clubs who are NOT part of
the selection process. So for instance lets say that the NCCC is the club
chosen in W6. We should contact the SCCC for their input on selecting
someone from W6. This will give other clubs an opportunity to voice their
opinions and give us an opportunity to make a more informed decision.
There is no way that we in W4 can know more about who is the best operator
in W6 than the membership of the SCCC.
I hope you will take these suggestions seriously.
