You bet it's a sport.....physical endurance, iron man. I would like to see
how many musclemen in football helmets or hockey pads can sit in a chair 48
hours with no sleep. It is partly a sport of endurance.

Hey, Danny, this is a great idea. It might be useful to expand on it
a bit, but the
core idea is great.
The 12 hour categories:
First 12 category:
Entrants may chose to operate any 12 hours out of the first 15 hours
of the 30 hour
contest period. Breaks must be 30 minutes or more, as in the 24 hour
category.
Last 12 category:
Entrants may chose to operate any 12 hours out of the last 15 hours of
the 30 hour
contest period. Breaks must be 30 minutes or more, as in the 24 hour
category.
24 hour category:
Entrants may chose to operate any 24 hours out of the 30 hour
contest period.
To allow an entrant to compete in both the First 12 category and the
Last 12
category using a single callsign, each entrant will be allowed to
contact any station
once in the first 15 hours of the 30 hour contest period and once in
the last 15
hours of the 30 hour contest period.
