[CQ-Contest] 850 vs 950sdx

I have an opportunity to guest op for SS phone at the home of a TS950SDX.
My questions to those of you with experience in the 850 and the 950 are
these:
I am intimately familiar (don't ask, please) with my TS850. To what extent
would the technical advantages of the 950SDX be lost given my unfamiliarity
with that radio?
Also, can someone share the connectorization for computer control? I have an
interface already for the 850. Is it a straight swap, or is there a serial
port on the 950? If so, is it a DIN, DB9 or DB25?
Since I'll probably be taking the 850 anyway, should I just plan on it as
the main radio and use the 950 for backup/minimal SO2R?

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Kam TNC to TMV7A
Message-ID: <001201c16b6e$b1939ba0$092129d8 at gis.net>
Good morning to all,
I am attempting to wire the 8 year old Kam TNC to a new TMV7A and am not
able to figure out the wiring. I have the Kam cable that has the plug to go
into the Kam on one end and several wires with bare leads to be soldered on
to a plug. I also have the plug that goes into the data port of the rig,
but am having trouble figuring out the placement of the wires. I have both
books and need help in matching what wire goes where on the data plug.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and 73,
Paul C. Bolduc
