The Central Texas DX and Contest Club (CTDXCC) has basically adopted our
local "convention-style" hamfest, Austin Summerfest, which is organized
by the Austin Amateur Radio Club, a general interest club. Some years,
we get out-of-town guest speakers (DXpedition members, contesters like N5TJ)
and some years our own members present material. Some years, we show a
DXpedition video as part of the forum.
The other big hamfests in the area don't have forums or speakers.
If every DX or contest club would "adopt" their local ham radio convention
hamfest, it would be a good thing.
