Hi Zack.  I heard myself (corroborated by W7ZMD) in about 1965.  About 3-4 
second delay as I recall. It was on the low end of 40M but may be 
mistaken.  We were taken to be crackpots end oddballs.  [We still are but 
for different reasons.]  Glad there are others that can confirm the oddity!
