Sorry for the delay in updating everyone on the condition of my Dad, Bob =
White, W1CW...it has changed almost every day it seems and now I have =
something definitive to report.

Initially his congested lung prevented open heart surgery three weeks =
ago and a balloon angioplasty was done on the vessel with the worst =
(90%) blockage.

...unfortunately after two days at home he suffered severe chest pain =
due to the collapse/failure of the angioplasty. He was taken back to =
the hospital and during the past week plus he has been receiving =
antibiotics and treatments aimed at overcoming the problem with his =
lung.

The lung specialist gave his thumbs up to surgery several days ago and =
this morning Dad underwent open heart surgery - a triple bypass - at the =
Pepin Heart Institute division of University Community Hospital at the =
corner of Fletcher and Bruce B. Downs in Tampa.

The heart surgeon made quick work of it - in a little over two hours he =
had performed the surgery and now Dad is out like a light in a well =
supervised recovery area at UCH. =20

He looks good - and, while unable to communicate at this time, as of =
yesterday he was in great spirits and his wit is as sharp as ever...the =
cleaning woman at the hospital had a cold and was doing her rounds with =
a mask on - when Dad saw her his remark was "you can't fool me, I know =
who you are!".

Mom (Ellen, W1YL) and I would like to thank everyone for the outpouring =
of e-mail and get well wishes...Dad's prognosis is for several weeks =
post operative recovery time to be spent at the hospital before he is =
sent home to finish his recovery.Mom will bee seeing Dad daily during =
recovery and as such e-messages can be sent to her at the address below =
for QSP to W1CW.

Thanks all of you again for your support!
