I have had quite good luck with adding the Heil boom mike to other phones.
I use a hardware store shoulder nut that has a wide face, epoxied into a
hole in the shell of the headphone.  I then install the entire Heil
hardware set, including the small bronze spring washer, and it works quite
well.  I've done this on several different headphones.  The only problem
I've had is some acoustic feedback if the monitor audio is set too high.
