[CQ-Contest] wintelnetx in hardware?

anyone have any experience with this device:

it looks like a neat way to connect an old computer to your cable modem or other
lan to get telnet access out to the internet. it also would look like it could
be used to connect any serial device (rotor controllers, radios, wx stations,
etc) to a lan to be accessed remotely. unfortunately they aren't cheap, anyone
know of a similar device that only does 2 or 4 ports that is cheaper?
