[CQ-Contest] What the ARRL Board did

Jim et al:

The real point here is not the justification for the proposed
actions. I'll bet most of us are willing to work towards a
better future for contesting with the ARRL.

The point here is Director Stinson's *very* thinly veiled insinuation
that all this would have been done and over with if the information
didn't get out the wrong way [W0CP quote]:"...the way the information
got out ahead of the explanation..." This is ludicrous, Jim, and points to
serious problems in the way a membership organization is being run...without
any regard for what the membership wants or needs. We don't want
actions taken and "explained" to us after the fact.

Mr. Stinson's words were the most insulting and condescending comments
I've seen come out of the board in a long time.
You don't always know what's best for us, Jim so why not ask us
once in a while...you know, the ones who put you in office and
pay 1/3 of the budget up there. Time to put your house
in order before cutting services to those of us that spend the money
on ARRL advertised products.

I might agree that contesting coverage can be better served
elsewhere or in a different fashion but you won't get me to agree
with megalomaniacal actions on behalf of what's best for amateur
radio without consulting us, the amateur radio operators.

73,

J.P. Kleinhaus, W2XX
