One thing I always do after SS is to filter my log for all the QSO's with 
checks more recent than a couple of years and send them QSL card with the 
PSE QSL box not checked. Maybe it will help some newer hams join in the fun 
again next time. It can't hurt and is just a few $'s very well spent, I think.

This idea was not mine originally, I believe it was first mentioned here a 
few years ago by someone.
