I'd like to second Dave's comments. Living in an area with almost no
contesters (Northern Ontario, where QST and CQ are not available at
newstands), reading the comments & stories posted with score summaries on
3830 is pretty much how I learned to contest. Band changes, openings, run
vs. s&p, SO2R, all of it. I can honestly say that if it hadn't been for the
many outstanding write-ups posted by K5ZD and others, I'd still be lost
regarding contests, and probably would have lost interest long ago.
Sincere thanks to Randy, and all like him, who share not only their scores
on 3830, but their experiences as well.

I really enjoy reading the comments section on the 3830 score reporter. I
read every comment, regardless of the entry category. After slaving away
over hot radios for an entire weekend, reading the comments only takes a
few minutes and really helps to savor the experience. I'm somewhat
disappointed that a lot of scores, even big ones, are submitted without
comments, probably because the submitter is tired after the contest, and
just wants to dump the score in and get it over with. I would suggest
that it is better to wait a day or two before submitting the score, with
comments, for the enjoyment of all.
