Yes...I remember when ARRL took over publication of the NCJ...one of 
my great fears was that they would move the contest reporting from 
QST to NCJ.  I was assured that this would not happen, that the 
results would remain in QST.  Ooops.

I don't think the results should be printed in NCJ, that's what QST 
is for (among other things).  QST is circulated much more widely, 
giving contest exposure to the uninitiated, and drawing some to our 
ranks from time to time...at least it was when scores were printed.  
Now, I'm sure it's less so, and when the ARRL completely eliminates 
contest coverage from QST (which they will do eventually, no matter 
what they claim), we really won't be picking up many new folks...and 
the spiral downward continues.

I have been a life member of ARRL since 1977, and support of 
contesting was a big reason I joined.  Sure, not the only reason, but 
it was major.  Now, with the dropping of line scores, Section News, 
support of lessened licensing requirements, etc., my support of ARRL 
continues to lessen.
