I hope all of you who have posted on this topic to the reflector have also
e-mailed the contest advisory committee with your comments.  Also, we should
consider some other options, such as are there contests we can influence on
a much shorter timeline?  Most of the "newer" contests do use a fairly
meaningful exchange, such as the sprints and the internet sprint.

A 2nd thought is that even geographically derived exchanges are less than
exciting.  CQWW with computers and accurate cty files is pretty much a no
brainer anymore.  Serial numbers are the best in my mind, but those of us
with computers should generate random 5 digit serial numbers.  No more
sitting in line and knowing what you're serial number will be when you get
through the pileup!  Totally possible to do and log check accuratly.  5
digits is a pretty good challenge and it would allow unique numbers even for
multi ops who do over 9999 q's.
