[CQ-Contest] Remember, this is suppose to be fun

Thanks Kelly,
I agree with you.

I take contesting very seriously, but in the end it is only a hobby - one
that I enjoy and have great fun at. I am very competitive by nature and
really enjoy contesting. But I don't make money from it and it doesn't
support my family, hence the term "hobby".

My point was that we had a big contest around the corner and I thought folks
would be excited about it. I expected talk of antenna tuning and
propagation discussion. Not all the negative stuff.

Even my suggestion of lightening up the discussion brought forth a negative
response. My mistake, I thought this was a discussion group for contesting,
where folks talked about antennas, rigs, software, and great contesting
practices.

Bill,

I don't believe this advice is to be taken to mean that you shouldn't go all
out in every way if you don't want to.

My take on it is it applies regardless which level of contesting to which
you aspire. I believe this advice should be defined as follows:

Sweat the details you can change,
Ignore the details you can't,
Have the wisdom to know the difference.
