40 m is definately a band for CW, just like 160.

Funny you should say that.  I made over 900 QSOs in last year's WWSSB, most 
of them working split.  It seems like a pretty good SSB band to me.  It can 
only improve over the next few years as the WARC frequency alignment continues.
