0300 hours UTC, calling CQ on 14080 RTTY, no answers. The band is perfectly quiet. The s-meter is on zero, not even a flicker. My beam is on VK/ZL and I'm hearing my echo via backscatter as clear as a bell. Even with just 50 watts the echo is loud so the band is near perfect. Too bad there isn't a contest. :-( 73, Bill W6WRT
