[CQ-Contest] Why did the Canadians (PT5M) beat the Americans (PW5C) in WRTC 2006?

Interesting analysis, just proves that there is luck factor involved in WRTCs.
One is the call sign, PT5M has fewer dots and dashes than PW5C.
Another one, as analyzed is the location.
Another one impacts the scores is WX or static QRM as we experienced in Slovenia, we had to shut down for few hours due to lightning storm and then static crashes. 

The far out idea for the next WRTC:
Have contesters design and bring their own equipment and antennas that would fit in, say, 60 lbs luggage. Providde AC power and tent with table on a similar terrain - plane, no mountains or ocean.
Have continental qualification runs with the same conditions year prior to WRTC. Top X will advance to WRC.
This would solve selection problems and QTH inequalities. 
Part of technical sport contesting is to design and operate the station. Weight limit would encourage design ingenuity, tradeoff between antenna weight and equipment.
Have category for single op and two ops.
