First of all, it has nothing to do with where you finish, Top Ten or Last
Twenty.
An observation (in the form of a question) from a peanut whistle who hasn't
done much in the way of all out competition in SS since the late '60's and
early '70's is as follows.
What is the difference between ........................
CQ SS, CQ SS, CQ SS (= CQ AK thru VO) de N5IA
and towards the end of the contest period ..................
CQ SS, especially looking for (= CQ any station who will give me a contact
for points, but I haven't worked one of these for a multiplier yet and it
would really be nice if a station from one of these locations called me) RI,
ME and VI de N5IA?????????????????????
In other words, what is the difference between CQing for points from anyone
and CQing for points (albeit points X Mult) specifying particular needs? In
BOTH CASES you are soliciting REAL TIME, ON YOUR OWN, WITH NO ASSISTANCE
FROM ANYONE ELSE!!!!!!!
If you really want to follow the proposed "Gentleman's Agreement" along the
line expounded, you would NOT append your CQ with SS, etc. All you would do
is call CQ!!! Period!!!! CQ, and your callsign. Nothing else. Then let
the answers come. None of this calling directly to stations operating in
the Sweepstakes event only!!!!!
Mis Dos Centavos!!!!!!!
