Nope. It's in the rules.
>From ARRL General Rules for all HF Contests:
2.Conditions of Entry:
2.1.Entrants agree to be bound by the provisions and intent of ARRL
contest rules.
2.2.Entrants agree to be bound by the regulations of their national
licensing authority.
2.3.Entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the ARRL Awards
Committee.
2.4. All entries become the property of the ARRL.
If you enter the contest, you agree with the above.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Contest Log Submission
Earlier I attempted to make a posting on this subject, KA1LMR, and the
moderator, rightfully, killed it. I can be a little over-bearing at times.
But I did copy KA1LMR and received a reply.
Here is just a small portion of his defense: "" was not aware that self
spotting or a friend spotting was against contest rules ""
My 'knee-jerk' reaction was this: When you submit a log you agree to be
bound by the rules of the contest. Well I was wrong because we no longer do
that. I looked over my submission from the CW contest. With all our modern
sophistication, cabrillo etc, we no longer submit a document that certifies
we played by the rules.
For those of us who forgot here is what it used to look like:
""This is to certify that in this contest I have operated my transmitter
within the limitations of my license and have observed fully the rules and
regulations of the contest.""
It was referred to as a summary sheet.
I have first hand knowledge the ARRL is watching the KA1LMR story and
hopefully CQ & NCJ are also. I think we need to find a way somehow to
include the old summary sheet in our contest log submissions in the future.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
It's already tomorrow in Australia
