Start by selecting a date that doesn't conflict with other contests. The
California QSO Party is held the first weekend in October and is sponsored
by the Northern California Contest Club. Visit the NCCC site
and http://www.cqp.org/ as well for a complete set of rules. Gather around
you a committee of a half dozen competent individuals, assign tasks, and you
are on your way. Find out who the individuals-in-charge are for other state
and region QSO parties are and contact them for advice. Don't try to
reinvent the wheel.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Planning a QSO Party
Ladies and Gents...
Need a little "advice" for planning a QSO Party. It looks like Kansas has
not had one for many years. Does anyone have any sage advice as to how to
plan such an event.

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. If you
don't have any Common Sense - get some and use it. If you can't find any
common sense, ask for help from somebody who has some common sense.
