[CQ-Contest] SO2R Technique

I'm curious as to what SO2R techniques people are using.  Normally, I do the
S&P on radio 2 while transmitting on radio 1, but I can only pull this off
when the rate drops, and I've hit the wall in that I don't feel as though
I'm getting any better at it in spite of regular practice.

So, I wonder what You good SO2R ops do?  Do you use the "PTT" method to
switch audio sources to both ears as I do, route one rig to each ear "full
time", or run a mix of both to both ears?
