G4BUO: The only contests that will be immune from the influence of Skimmer
are
the sprints - already a supreme test of CW skills.
 
This might be the killer application for 48 kHz CW Skimmer - instead of
sprinting, 
simple mouse click on decoded signal, just like walk over bandmap spots!
 
Please beware that our ears are only transfering sound to the brain in
electric pulses.
It is up to us to use brain power for single tone decoding or SO2R assisted
operation.
 
Wideband IF SDR with K3 and Orion would suffer from a lot of unwanted mixer
signals.  
Flex radio stops working above 1 mW input level.  70 MHz SAW filters with
200 kHz BW are cheap.
