[CQ-Contest] Petition to Ban Skimmer

The question I have, straight forward - no hidden agenda, no ultimate goals... 
very simple, why is skimmer being considered? 
This is a serious question with multi guess answers.
1. to gain a scoring advantage
2. curuous to see "if it works"
3. taking the advancement of technology to a different level
 
No answer is wrong, however the end results or effect of the use of skimmer as perceived by the ENTIRE community, is of utmost consiquinse. The ultimate end.. can be derived by simply taking a step back, no... back a bit further.... 
Consider for a few moments what has happened, been experienced, and derived from the introduction of a simple technology advancement of simple consideration... say, for example... 
windows 3.... or before that... dos. 
  I wonder... maybe one should consider such other things as the compactron tube. It was a "new" technology.. too. Then. Hind sight is always much better focused than future sight. Will skimmer work? Don't know. Will it be good? Don't know. Will it change the face of contesting? ABSOLUTELY!!! Wether it works or not, and... even tho we don't like the concept of this.... it is 
destined to change it wether or not we continue to fuss about it.
And last, but never ending...is the concept of .... would you rather be Watson... and help, or be one of the nay, nay, never work with it... types? I can't find the names now of the later.
